Welcome

This is a test post to familiarize myself with the world of blogger, but also to introduce myself to you. I am a teacher candidate, currently in my fourth year of undergraduate study, and my goal is to teach students of all cultural backgrounds at the secondary level. My ultimate teaching goal, is to one day teach English to students outside of the United States of America. Such places I would like to teach include Ireland or England, Italy, Japan, as well as many others.

For now, the content of this blog will primarily focus on the steps of my I-Search, an assignment involving teacher candidates to explore real issues or questions they have about teaching. For example, how do we make group assignments more appealing to students? Should cellphones be banned from schools? How do we effectively use poetry, spoken word, or lyrics in our classroom? Any of these kinds of topics may be explored and inquired about until we reach a reasonable conclusion. However, some of us may leave with more questions than answers. Our opinions may change on matters or we may even adapt a new style to our teaching.

That is all for this post, I leave you with a short poem to send you on your way.

Little
Little blossom in the day
Little firefly in the night
Either way you light up my life
